Pioneering innovative cutting solutions in North America since 1955
The U.S. branch of Messer Cutting Systems first began in 1955 as CRO Engineering, an oxygen cutting tool and machine builder focused on oxygen plate cutting applications. CRO Engineering was a leader in developing revolutionary technologies, including the first American-built numerically-controlled cutting machine.
CRO Engineering caught the attention of Messer Griesheim, who purchased the company in 1973 and changed the name to MG Cutting Systems. Later, the name was changed to MG Systems & Welding. Now operating as part of the Messer World, we are Messer Cutting Systems.
